Whoever, then, is wishing to honor Christ and to avoid the pollution of Christian error, must plow a new furrow from himself. We must in the first place investigate every question, even the simplest, by ourselves and then seek the answer to these questions in God's word alone. Only then, can my belief become real and useful. The ant and the grasshopper, the bad neighbor, and the blind man, the stupid and proud man and the humble, are all in God's word, and God is not the author of iniquity. The method we have set out to use cannot fail us. Have courage, then. We shall make the attempt.
