metro only has 90Mbs(max i get around 40Mbs after i use a ton of data) as the max where I live, but i easily get the full bandwidth, i user a routersetup with no issues. its i highend 250$ router though and supports 300Mbs p/s on the 802.11n frequencies, i just use it to connect over 2.4ghz and edit the ttl and pass back through to the 5ghz, ive been doing this for years and using 800GBs-2TBs of data each month no issues. routers will only limit you if your using a crappy router, trust me bee. messing with this stuff since 2012
I tried the ttl method in cmd prompt on my windows 10 but tmobile still tracks me. Only method working for me is connect cable and fire up pdanet on my rooted note 5. But I want to just wifi hotspot tether without cable and not get tracked. Some people on xda said with a vpn you can. Also was thinking about a user agent switcher. Any help
How to get VPN working I bought a subscription to Private Internet Access VPN. Successfully set up VPN on Android phone (Android 6) following their instructions where I also downloaded the OpenVPN Connect app. Works great when I turn on the VPN connection but everything behind the phone loses internet.
note:for some reason, after a while, the tethering setting does go back to 1, which allows me to enable the hotspot, but blocks the internet access. hopefully I will figure it out. crafty phone companies

Yes: AWESOME! Everything is working perfectly and you now have a home network ready to use your 4G unlimited data. We recommend adding a VPN (discussed below) to ensure that you get full resolution video and no throttling.
I followed the tutorial and successfully setup an ASUS-RTAC68U router with NordVPN (and activated it) and tethered my Moto E4 plus via usb to the router. However, Verizon is still able to identify when I am tethering. Upon reaching 15 GB I received a txt message indicating I had used that much of my hotspot for the month and would be throttled to 600kbps until the next billing cycle.
i have exactly the configuration you suggest, verizon unlimited, galaxy s5 phone, pdanet that i have had for many years and a new asus router. hp pc running windows 10. i can usb tether the phone to the pc, everthing good. i plug in the ethernet cable from the router to the pc. pc recognizes the ethernet adaptor. when i attempt a bridge the pdanet connection immediately drops. and sharing does not work either. there must be a detail i am missing. is there something in the tutorial that is obvious to an expert, but a novice would not.
I have successfully set up the router to recognize and act as a bridged repeater for my cell phone PdaNet+ WiFi Hotspot using a Vlan, but any device connecting to the Vlan on the router does not see the connection as having access to the internet.
Visible, a Verizon subcontractor, offers a $40/month no contract, unlimited everything, has only one flaw. It limits the number of devices connected to the mobile device hotspot to one(1). I run Linux Mint 18.3 on my main computer (I broke the apron strings with Windoze years ago). As much as I like being free from Microcrap, learning Linux is a chore, and I have been having much difficulty using the computer as a hotspot. Therefore, If I want to connect more than one device, it seems a ideal solution to have that one(1) device be the router and the consequent LAN and WLAN connections connected through it. Problem solved. I just purchased the ASUS modem you recommended in your article. I should receive it in a couple days and will report my findings. 153554b96e
